Quick Start Briefs
Out of Scope Productions is a Third Person Consulting company. TPC owns and operates OOSP: we are the studio that makes Project: Countdown!, Near Miss! and the other games. TPC maintains the Best Practices and Standards Database behind them. OOSP is how Third Person Consulting delivers scenario-based learning, backed by the world's largest gamified best practices database Tier D · Unverified
We searched and couldn't find a bigger one. We can't prove there isn't one, so we graded our own claim the way the Database grades everyone else's.
The name is the idea. Projects rarely fail on the work everyone planned for. They fail on what was out of scope: the vendor who goes quiet, the approval nobody owned, the risk that was somebody else's problem until it wasn't. Most training skips that part. We build activities that let people practice it.
We hold ourselves to three rules. Make it engaging enough that people choose to finish it. Build it on evidence, and be honest about how strong that evidence is. Design it so every learner can use it.
OOSP is our shorthand. The full name is Out of Scope Productions.
How it grew · 30 seconds
From one index card to 1,871 graded entries
It started as a question on an index card: what if project and crisis management were a role-playing card game? The cards became playable scenarios, every call got traced to a documented practice, and the Database grew into games, card games, tools, briefs and workshops.

About the creator
Why the games are built on evidence
I made Project: Countdown! and the Database because of a pattern I kept seeing in six years of project strategy and implementation work in IT and AECO. Solo practices, small firms and global companies had the same problems, and the "best practices" meant to fix them were often ones nobody had checked.
Twenty-two years of research, projects and knowledge management taught me to go to the sources. Every entry in the Database says where it comes from, how strong the evidence is, and what we're not sure about.
I spent five years designing and running role-play scenarios. As a neurodivergent creative, I know people learn in different ways; digital scenarios let each person practise the decision in a way that works for them.
“I don't accept a best practice just because everyone else does.”
The consulting practice that owns and operates OOSP: learning strategy, knowledge and process gaps, and best practices across departments, delivered with our scenarios.
